The Wrestler interviews

By Alex Quevedo, Staff Writer

The Torch had the opportunity to sit down with those responsible for The Wrestler. The following are excerpts from speaking with director Darren Aronofsky and writer Robert Siegel. On acquiring Mickey Rourke: Aronofsky: From the beginning I always knew that there would be very, very little money, because the way the films get financed in today's world is you go to the international market and you raise the money based on the movie star and the role.

Movie Review: The Wrestler

By Alex Quevedo, Staff Writer

The last film director Darren Aronofsky set out to make, The Fountain, the film went through developmental hell. When it finally released, we here at The Torch ripped into the film with sharp claws. Aronofsky is back with a much lower-scale film about a broken and beaten down wrestler from yesteryear.

Bond who?

By Alex Quevedo, Staff Writer

Back in 2006, Casino Royale amazed most moviegoers with its gritty and intense story, mixed with Daniel Craig's refreshing portrayal of James Bond. Its success left Quantum of Solace with a big pair of shoes to fill. With the benefit of having both an established story and characters, Quantum lives up to Bond's new action level but lacks persona.

Memorable story grips audiences

By Christina Heiser, Managing Editor

By Christopher Otis, Staff Writer

Whether you get your video games from some jolly old man in a red suit or you buy them with your own hard earned cash, the holiday season is usually when most of the big-named, high profile games come out to play. Too many of them, in fact, as it's almost impossible to find enough time or money to even humor the idea of playing them all, even if you limit yourself just to the Playstation 3 exclusives.

Wii Games Courtesy of Christmas

By Pasquale Passerella, Editorial Page Editor

With the temperatures dropping and Thanksgiving right around the corner, the semester seems to have reached the home stretch. Students can finally take a deep breath and begin looking forward to the long Christmas break, at least until finals start. And what would thoughts of Christmas break be without thoughts of Christmas presents? For those among the student body who look to video games to fill the void between classes and homework assignments, the Christmas season brings with it an entire collection of new games just waiting to be played.
